Magic Wood

Magic Wood is one of Switzerland's more famous bouldering areas. It boasts incredible, highly featured granite bouldering along a lovely river in the alps. It has many hard boulders 8a and up and while any level of boulderer can enjoy this area, it is particularly wonderful if you are breaking into the higher grades.

There are a handful of places to stay within walking distance of the boulders which can be found at https://www.bodhi.ch/. The cheapest option is Bodhi Camping for 50 CHF/night/person. The boulders are most easily accessed from Zurich where you can take public transportation to the area. You can also drive from Milan. To use public transportation, take a train from Zurich to Thusis. Bus from Thusis to Andeer, then switch onto the bus to Juf and ask the driver to drop you off at Schmeltzi which is the town in walking distance to the boulders.
