Hatcher Pass
Description
[Edit]A classic granite area in the Talkeetna Mountains. The damps frequently feel damp, but somehow it is always worth it to try and climb. Hatcher hosts many rugged, bad, and obscure routes, however, several classics lie scattered around. Each year it seems a couple of new great climbs get established too. For many, Hatcher may not stack up to more popular granite areas in the states, but go check it out and find out for yourself. The Kelsey Hatcher guide is pretty good and has some great images. It's probably worth getting if you enjoy the area. Otherwise, the internet and word of mouth will probably do. In my opinion, the best areas to visit include: Green Gully, Catch the Wave, Lost Wall, Renaissance Wall, Mile High, and Snowbird. To get to Hatcher Pass, head towards Wasilla and get on Trunk Road. From there, continue onto Fishhook-Willow Rd and drive up into the mountains.
