Description
[Edit]The U2 and Goicoechea Boulder sit one on top of the other. U2 has a somewhat tall vertical black face which can be seen from lower boulders, in the Forest area and the Goicoechea Boulder is on top of this boulder and is most easily accessed by walking around the left side of the U2 boulder.
Johnny Goicoechea, the namesake of this boulder, established countless classic climbs in Washington and Colorado from the 1990s through 2010s. He was a beloved staple of the Washington climbing community for years and tragically passed in April 2024. The Goicoechea Problem was among his earlier FAs in Washington, established in the late 1990s.
