Description

[Edit]

Utah's premier granite (quartz monzonite) climbing area. The grades are largely old-school, as such they're often much stiffer than newer areas. While there are a number of pure crack climbs, the majority of climbs here are a mix of slab and crack, with some face climbing here and there. The old-school nature of the canyon often means sparse bolting and bold leads. On top of the excellent roped climbing, there are also world class boulders spread throughout the canyon.

The access to much of the climbing in the lower north side of the canyon is dependent on a land lease from the LDS church, which owns most of the area around their mountain vault. Climbing on and above the church vault is closed, however there are many climbs just outside this area that are free game.
